Nature's Paint Brush

While out in the yard the other day I noticed one of the trees Jason cut down was a pine tree so I thought -cool idea for a painting project. Will did it for a while and then asked for a paint brush-LOL! Here's how it turned out!

Our First Muffin Tin Monday

Today we did muffin tin Monday which is creative way to serve a meal in a -you guessed it-MUFFIN TIN! If you want more in fo please see http://michellesjournalcorner.blogspot.com/ she has themes almost every week. Today's theme was party/celebrate. We didn't do the theme since it was our first time I just wanted to try it out. I am hoping that this concept will get Will to try more foods-Hey a mom can dream right!LOL! We had PB and J carrots and dressing, veggie crackers, a cheese stick and applesauce.

Birthday Weekend

Had a great time last Saturday at Will's 3rd Birthday. We had his party at our local rec center so the kids could ride George the Train. Our party theme was "Thomas" so this was a nice touch. Also we got to play in the bounce houses inside. The kids had a blast and the were exhausted by the end of it. I must say ,typically,I hate parties at these kind of places. Usually there is not a chance to personalize it like I do at home. But this was the best idea ever!! No clean up before and after and I didn't have to fix food. Plus we were inside so no complaints about the heat!! And best of all Will loved it!
On Monday(his actual birthday) we took him to the Greenville Zoo which was fun. This was his first trip to this zoo. I think he enjoyed running and playing on the playground more than the animals. It was a nice day. After nap we surprised him with our gift-a new tool bench. Then at dinner he said he wanted to eat outside so we made hot dogs and had a little cookout. It really was a perfect day.

Monkey Joe's Play Date

The other day we met some friends for a play date at Monkey Joe's. It was our first time there and Will had a blast! We were there for about 2 1/2 hrs and he was on the go the entire time. Needless to say he was exhausted by the time we left. He didn't even cry about having to leave!
He wasn't sure what to think about Monkey Joe

Our Fourth

We have been so busy this month! I have several swaps I am participating in and of coarse there's Will's Birthday party in 2 weeks. This year we have decided to have the party at a local rec center mainly because he is into Thomas and they have a little kiddie train. But since it will be way too hot to be outside the whole time we are also going to do a bouncy party and that will include an inside party room. I am relieved that I don't have the extra stress of making sure the house is spotless and the yard is mowed! Not to mention worrying about complaints about the heat! Still have some finishing touches to get to though. Will post more later-here are some of our pics from the 4th. Just had a low key day at home. We had a little firework show(thanks to daddy) and played with sparklers. This was Will's first time seeing fireworks-he called them"bang bang"

Seeing Stars

We had a great time making this 4th of July Discovery Bottle. I got the idea from Teaching My Little Bookworm's Blog. Check it out she has awesome ideas. For this project we combined corn syrup, water and confetti. The corn syrup to water ration depends on how fast you want the confetti to flow. This project was great for practicing pouring not to mention a sparkly decoration!
