Going Batty

Here are some pics of some bats we made using little pumpkins, black paint and craft foam. Will has been so into projects lately and I am super excited -I never thought he would ever have the attention span for crafts. I still try to make sure they are small projects and usually we do them in stages.

Ween Party

A couple of weekends ago we had our first annual Halloween Party-or as Will calls it-a Ween Party! I had so much fun making decorations and even got brave enough to make the pinata. It had a few challenges along the way but I was happy with the way it turned out. One thing I wasn't expecting was how cold it was. I had planned a cool skeleton scavenger hunt to do in the dark but the kids were freezing. We were going to play "hot potato" with a severed hand but it scared some of the kids so we did it "old school" with an actual potato. Everyone had a good time even Will who for some reason refused to wear his Thomas the Train costume. We did, however, manage to get him to wear his dinosaur hoodie. You never can tell what is going on in the 3yr old brain! I already have some ideas planned for next year-I can't wait!!

Franken-Puppet

Here is a little project Will and I did. This was a Martha Stewart kit that was on clearance for 3.00 at our local AC Moore. All the shapes were adhesive on the back so no messy glue to deal with! He turned out cute and Will had fun making him. What a great project for a rainy day-not to mention Halloween!

Muffin Tin Monday

Today's theme was "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" in the book (and movie) food rains down on a small town. It rains pancakes, juice, mac and cheese -OK nuggets were not a part of it but Will asked for it! And wait.....why do I have and empty muffin cup???? Well I'll tell you! In an ironic twist I was about to put some leftover meatballs in the tin and .....I dropped the container and it "rained" meatballs in my kitchen!!! So we were missing the meatball part of this tin. I should have taken a pic there was sauce all over my white cabinets!! Oh well!

Will's First Drive Game

On Friday night we went to see a Greenville Drive game. The Drive is a minor league team for the Red Sox - and yes I know it's practically a sin for someone who grew up in New York in a Yankees household to be supporting the Red Sox but I love baseball! Plus it was free and closer than going to Atlanta! A girl in my mom's group invited everyone to join her and her family watch the game. Her husband ,who is is a die hard Red Sox fan,( I try not to hold that against him!LOL!) got a box for this playoff game and they were generous enough to invite anyone who was interested. Will seemed to enjoy it he had the same attention span as the other kids who seemed to be just as excited over the big bowl of popcorn!LOL! But it may be a while before we take him to a game where he will have to stay in his seat. After the game they did fireworks and a tribute to 911. I had a great time trying out my new camera and for once got decent shots of fireworks. It was a perfect evening. And in case you are wondering the Drive beat Asheville and won the Division!!

YAY!! MTM package rescue!!

We are so excited to have our great Muffin Tin Monday Swap Package from Andrea and her little girl at "Good Girl Gone Redneck" It turns out it was at the post office and my mail lady didn't even leave a note. It was so worth the wait!!! I had been thinking about buying the set of silly feet-I can't wait to use them. Will has been lining them up and making a choo choo out of them. Thanks so much Andrea and I am so sorry about all the confusion! PS-Will really loves the pirate puzzle too!
