Be Thankful

I have been thinking a lot about how Thanksgiving really doesn't get the promotion it deserves. It gets lumped in with Christmas and I think that's wrong. Don't get me wrong Christmas will always be my favorite but Thanksgiving is great holiday too. So I have been trying personally give Thanksgiving it's own time. Usually as soon as it starts getting cold I bust out the Christmas movies and CDs but I am trying to hold back ...I also have been hitting the craft stores for decorations and crafts to do with Will. And really there isn't a whole lot to choose from. I have, however, discovered a cool magazine "Family Fun" that has a lot of great holiday ideas. Check out the website familyfun.com. Working on some turkey crafts might help a little. I will post pics later. I did find a singing turkey in my attic that I bought forever ago that Will seems to love! Here is a pic....there is a piece of dried fruit in his mouth that Will fed him! LOL!

Last Sunday we went to a Thomas event at our local AC Moore. Will is all about choo-choos lately so I thought he would enjoy this. I didn't expect him to sit long but he actually did well. Unfortunately they were using paint pens and Sharpie's to color them which I thought was stupid. But he actually colored for about 5 mins or so which is progress. They also had snow you add on to your car ...I did his snow when we got home.

Fall Fun

This past weekend we went to Denver Downs,a local corn maze and pumpkin patch. We went last year and it was a lot easier to keep up with Will. This year I got a lot of pics of the back of his head! But we had fun. He is so funny because when we go somewhere he burns off all his energy in the first 45 mins and then becomes to crabby to do anything! So I just keep taking pictures and hope they turn out. He enjoyed feeding the goats. When we ran out of goat food he went over to the corn pits (where small kids play in sandboxes of dried corn) got a handful and gave it to the goats. It was cute. But after the fact I saw a sign that said not to do that...OOooops! They also have ropes on top of hay bales that you can swing from and even last year he couldn't understand why he couldn't do it.

Then on Sunday we went to a trunk or treat with his Grammy. It took him a while to understand that he didn't have to carry it all in his hands -he could put it in his bucket. We also went in several bouncy houses and even got to ride Thomas the Train -which lately is Will's favorite thing to watch.

Busy October

Well this month has just started and every weekend I have something to do! We want to take Will to go Pumpkin picking -some thing we plan to do as a tradition yearly, we also want to go to Dollywood because we have season passes and we want to get our money's worth. I also have a baby shower coming up that I offered to help with the decorations. (thanks to my Cricut!) So I am in major craft mode. Unfortunately Jason was trying to change the blade and broke the blade housing. So I am feverishly trying to get a new ASAP but I have called different stores in the area and no luck! The shower is on the 18th so I am stressing out! We are in the process of Halloween decorating which is so fun because Will loves to help. This week I want to decorate the porch. Now that Will is getting older he is enjoying decorations more. And of coarse he loves to help. I can't wait until Christmas! That's all for now.....

Our Trip

Our vacation was a success! We had so much fun! I think Will's favorite part was the ocean at Virginia Beach and Sesame Place. Sesame was so cool! I wish I lived closer ..the park had a bunch a rides and attractions for smaller children. This was great because when we go to Dollywood there are limited activities for Will.

No Motivation!

I have a million things to do to get ready for our vacation and I am not feeling motivated. We are leaving on Friday at 4am and will be driving to VA Beach, Sesame Place, The Crayola Factory and to NJ to see my grandma. It should be an interesting journey. This will be our first really long car ride with Will and I am trying to prepare! If that's possible! LOL!

Later today we are going to get Will's picture made so hopefully that will go well...will post pics later!

My Little Picasso

Earlier today I decided to let Will color. I told him that he had to sit at the table and I only gave him three crayons. I figured that it would be easier to keep up with them. WRONG!! Well he got bored and moved on to something else and I thought I picked up all the crayons. Some time went by and I saw him with one. I thought nothing of it and I took it from him. Later that night I was coming out of the bathroom in our hallway and I saw something on the wall. Upon closer inspection I saw it was ......BLUE CRAYON!!! So I consulted my "Queen of Clean" book and it said for crayon removal on hard surfaces to take a wet cloth with baking soda on it and rub it off. I was surprised that I barely had to scrub it and came off. Hope someone could use this tip! BTW Will is now limited to Color Wonder Markers and his Aquadoodle!!LOL!

Bubble Mohawk and A Man Hike

This is a pic from the other day when we filled the tub with bubble bath and turned the jets on!

Today Jason took Will on a hike to Table Rock for some "guy" time. It felt weird staying behind but as usual this "control freak" had plenty of instructions! .....take pictures, bring hand sanitizer, don't forget the bug spray etc. LOL! They seemed like they had a lot of fun.

"Mom's not going to like this!"
